Cabin door Adjustment

Okay need advice on how to adjust the cabin sliding door on my 34 PC. I know there are three screws on the bottom. Are they the only ones that you need to adjust? The door is binding up when trying to slide it closed.

Thanks
Steve

Have you tried to clean and lube the track. If you are talking about the screws on the plastic guides there isn’t any adjustment on them. You can lube the track with silicone spray or lemon pledge works just fine.

There are plastic guides on both the top and bottom. I replaced both top guides last year after close inspection showed that there were hairline cracks in both. The guides can be purchased for $38.95 (Upper) / $29.95 (Lower) @ https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...ormula+boat+parts+sliding+door+guide&_sacat=0

If the guides are not cracked you can use a number of spray items one being Lemon Pledge on the guides which will free the door up to slide freely.....

It isn’t just the sliding it does not seem to line up correctly with the striker for the door to close. I will clean it up some more and spray some lemon pledge on it and see what happens.
Thanks

While we're on this topic. When opening, my cabin door tends to bind. If I then push it open from about 3/4 of the way up the door, it'll open smoothly. I'll try some pledge. Does anyone have pictures of the track area? If I need to replace the guides, how would I remove the door?

Thanks!

You don't have to remove the door. There are 3 or 4 screws in each guide. Have someone down-below on the other side of the door to work with you simply removing the old screws, take out the old guide and replace/re-screw the new guide in place. Its fairly simply IMHO

Please do not lube or spray your track. All that does is act like glue for dirt and debris. My guess is a new set of door sliders will fix your issue. That is the case most of the time. Pricing is listed below, contact your Formula TAG rep to order a new set.

8856 EA DR SLIDE UPPER 5X1.437X.375WHT $23.24 each
8857 EA DR SLIDE LOWER 5X1X2.5 WHT $34.86 each

I had the same binding issue on my 37pc. Come to find out, one of the INSIDE guide blocks was broken. Replaced it and it's good as new....

What's the process for removing and replacing the guides? I've got a 34pc so it should be similar to yours.

Two upper and lower per door, correct?

Hi,

Can someone advise on how to replace the bottom slides. I have the replacement parts, but, they don't appear they will fit into the track from the top and would need to be slid in from the side, but, there is no access to do that. The top ones look like they will fit fine. In my case it is an 02 34pc.

Thanks,

Gary

Our older 41 pc - had to replace the slides and removed the door too get to the far end to slide the guides in. Be EXTREMELY careful with the door-easily broken and difficult or impossible to find a replacement. On another post discussion about lube ended up with Armor all, seemed to do the trick.

How do you change the bottom guides, 08 PC.

Typically on PCs both upper and lower guides have to be unfastened from the sliding door and then the door removed. In many cases the Walk through bow handrail has to also be removed by unfastening the bottom screws on the stairs an then the two screws that mount it to the windshield. Then the door can be removed and the guides removed from the track. I found it necessary to use a broom handle or boat hook to maneuver the guides in and out of the lower track.
