Cabin door replacement

Well my cabin door is way out of wack. It is warped due to heat or something. I took it out and tired putting weight on it but no luck. you have to push on it to get it to slide. It is binding the slides and it sticks. Anyone know where Formula gets these made? Or maybe know of a plastic company that could build one if I sent them mine? I don't even want to know how much Formula wants for that door.

I just ordered new slides for the door and gel coat!! yikes! The slides were like $40.00 a piece. So I am going to be shocked at what the door cost. Not sure if I care that is operates that bad.

See if MultiFab in Massechussets is still around. Thats the company who has made my rear door. I need to get my cabin door hatch done so I will be looking them up soon also.

CHECK WITH FORMULA. MY LAST 94 34PC HAD A WARPED DOOR DUE TO ME LAYING ON IT TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD IN THE HOT SUN. FACTORY STILL HAD SOME WHITE ONES LAYING AROUND, AND SOLD THEM PRETTY CHEAP. IN FACT, I THINK SHIPPING WAS MORE THAN THE DOOR ITSELF.

Formula is quoting me $1,039.00 for the door but he said maybe they could cut me a deal. He gave me the phone number for Meyer Plastic who builds them. I am waiting on a call back. It is my understanding if you put it in a jig of the shape you want and run it through the oven it should stay that shape after it cools. I spoke with the guy at Finney's Plastic out in Havasu in length yesterday and he said if I was to stick it in a oven at 325 it would go back to a flat piece of plastic. So the trick is to heat it enough in the area that is a problem and get it soft to form it and let it cool. Trick is the jig.

IS THERE ANY WAY TO FILE THE FIBERGLASS WHERE THE DOOR IS HITTING? I DID THIS ON A NEIGHBORS DOOR AND IT WORKED. OF COURSE, HE HAD A PLASTIC TRIM OVER HIS, SO ANY ROUGH EDGES WOULD HAVE BEEN HIDDEN.

Well the problem is not the fiberglass hitting, the latch drags a little on the interior mold but all you have to do is push on the door. The problem is because the door is warped it is making the slides bind in the track. Push on the door and it slides fine.

So Formula tells me call Meyer Plastics. I call and speak with the girl and she says Lorie will call you back. No phone call back yet. So I get a email back from Formula. He says they cannot help because we quit making that door and the jig is back over here at Formula. I say well crap I guess I will try puttting it in my own jig and heating it up. One way or the other I either fix it, or make it worse. So I guess if I screw it up I have to buy a new one. The door is back in the boat for now. I have other things to work on for a while. I may wait until it gets about 110 degrees here this summer and set it out on the pavement. That might do it.
