Dinghy mount inquiy

Dinghy mount inquiry that is....

Hello All,

37PC owner but we have sights set on upgrading to a 45 within the next 2-3 years. I'm now looking for a center console dinghy to play around with which I don't plan on transporting on our current boat; however, I'm looking ahead and anticipate taking it along with us on the 45. Wondering what the maximum size is that I can work with. I want to have it sit horizontally on the swim platform.

Thanks!

Shane

i had contacted Latham years ago to help me perform maintenance on mine. they sent me the installation manual for the KLFT-8053 which was on my '08 45. it had this in there...

WARNING: Ensure that the transom and platform of your boat is capable of supporting the total weight of the lift system and the load it will be carrying. The weight of the lift is approximately 900 lbs total and the weight carrying capacity of the lift is 2400 lbs (gross) which includes the weight of the Platform, Tender and any individuals on the platform. The total approximate weight capacity of the transom should be in excess of 3300 lbs. DO NOT OVERLOAD THE PLATFORM AS THIS MAY LEAD TO PERSONAL INJURY, EQUIPMENT DAMAGE OR MALFUNCTION.

Later on they say that you should contact them to get the exact recommendation for your vessel. I can't remember what they told me for mine, but I had an 800 pound or so SeaDoo on mine and it was at the high end of the limit.

best of luck!

i got the dreaded...message must be approved error, so let's see if this works, and my apologies if it shows up twice.

We went with a Genesis 310 center console the guys out of Newport are the dealer. Factory said we would be good that one with a Honda 30 on it.

Thanks Todd. I think the Walker Bay Generation 360 11 LTE would be a great model.
