strange situation....when powering up the e120 it reads depth, then loses it after about 10-20 seconds...and doesnt come back...if i pop breaker, it acknowledges dsm lost, pop it back im it senses depth for another 10-20 seconds then loses it again...

any ideas please?

its the cable...i heard that its a known issue by raymarine..

I am having (been having) similar issues...what did you find out the cable is the issue? And then what cable is it, between the E120 and the Depth Sounder Puck, etc.

Hi - I am having a similar problem, that has gotten worse over time. The depth sounder works for a few minutes when I first turn on the chartplotter, but then I lose a depth reading. Has anyone isolated this issue to the cable?

there was an old recall related to this....I screamed and yelled and I got stuff replaced...and never had a problem since.

Resurrecting this old thread. I'm now experiencing constant disconnects on my 2008 350. It was an intermittant problem since I bought the boat in 2015, but now it's suddenly much worse. How have others dealt with this issue? Its an old unit, so getting Raymarine to do anything likely not going to happen.

Raymarine won't do anything anymore... I tried on My 31 before I sold it.... and it was a few years ago.

I have a DSM from my 40 that still seems to work.... but it is from Mexico so it potentially could have the same problem but I'd send it to you for shipping if you want it.

My e120 to dsm300 has same issue. Can reset it by cycling power to dsm300 or by cycling power to e120. I think it may be lose of data between e120 and dsm

make sure your select transducer is on the transducer your using. The transducer label is usually on the cord plugged into the unit. I had to do this a few times to get it to behave.

Thanks. I will give that a try
