I have a 2004 260BR and I want to add an extended swim platform to make it a little more user friendly for the kids. I've been looking at swim platform.com and it looks like that's a pretty good product. Does anyone know if Formula offers an extended option? Any pros or cons to swimplatform.com?

I know of three different installations that were second to none!!! Great company and great product. Highly recommend.

I priced the factory extension for my 260ss from my formula dealer this past spring. I don't remember the exact number but it was around $2500. I thought that was a very good price for the factory platform. This is the same platform that comes on the 2006 and later models. I like the look of this over the swimplatform.com and it does not have the stainless support arms that attach to the transom.

Thanks 76, that was the only negative I saw on swim platform.com and I agree, 2,500 isn't too bad for a factory deck. Did you end up purchasing the deck? If so how did it work out?

I did not end up purchasing the extended deck, so I can't give any insight on the install. I will most likely put one on at some point, just trying to justify that kind of money for something I don't really need. We anchor in areas that are only a couple feet deep and spend most of our time in the water.

You can refer to my post in "Modifications" http://formulaboatsforum.com/forumtest/index.php?topic=3243.0 for my experience in adding a platform to a 252BR. We enjoy it very much. Since it's at water level, with several folks sitting or standing on it, it will submerge several inches and you can remain cool while sitting and drinking a beer - or tea - or whatever you're into.

By the time we got it wet, we were in for about $2700 with a three step ladder attached to the underside. With the added space and benefit, it was VERY much worth it for the way we use the boat. Whether at anchor, or getting wake boarders ready to go, it's great.

I ended up getting the platform through formula, it was a bit more expensive, but the look will be more factory looking. I also liked how it mounted compared to other products.

Very nice!! Are you going to install it yourself? Was I in the ballpark on price with my earlier post? Let us know how the process works out for you.
