FORMULA Emblem change-over

I have a 2005 280ss and I'm going to be changing over all of the Gold "FORMULA" letters and the Thunderbird to Chrome. Any recommendations on the best way to do this? My thought is to use a plastic putty knife and gently work the Gold one's off. What's the best way to get the adhesive off without causing damage?

Heat gun or hair dryer to soften it up and a fishing line. Work the fishing line behind then use it to saw and cut tape.

That's a great idea. What do you use to remove the tape that is still stuck to the hull?

I used my thumb and rolled it all off. Then used a coth with a little acetone after to make sure nothing was left. Then high polished.

Do you think the gold makes it look dated, or just like the looks of chrome better? I was kind of thinking of doing that myself.

For my boat I thought it looked dated with the gold letters. The chrome is a much better look.

The gold on my 02 37 PC just doesn't look like it blends with all the chrome on the rest of the boat. Santa brought me chrome emblems for xmas. Just waiting for the spring.
