Fuel Gauges not accurate

My Starboard fuel gauge does not go above 3/4 but decreases as I use the fuel. The port seems to be past full and decreases but not enough. Has anyone had any experience with adjusting the screws on top of the senders? Thanks!!
 
I did this years ago on an 01 31PC. Filled it 1st then adjusted the screw til the gauge read full. Worked out ok.
 
I am having a fuel gauge accuracy problem, except that I think mine is more serious. I am not getting any reading at all out of my fuel gauges, and I suspect the senders are dead, after 6 seasons. Has anyone else had this issue? Someone mentioned to me that the ethanol in the fuel has something to do with it. I have no idea if this is accurate, or just another "blame it on the ethanol" comment.
