Fuel vents inny or outy?

Has anyone updated from the older external style fuel tank vents to the newer "in set" style? Anything to note or be aware of?

Sorry no pics, but I have the older style that stick out and noticed the newer style the other day and thought that would be a nice update....

EDIT:
Here is a pic of the vents I have

and these are the newer "inny" style I've seen

Hahaha, I think so too!
It's on the list of todos, was just hoping someone had covered this ground already and would be able to provide some insight.

They look cool but catch dirt and are always the cause of a black drip line down the side of my boat. I would think that the outtys don't catch dust n grime in it and won't leave lines down the side of the boat. Do the outtys leave the same mess?

Interesting, can't say that the outtys on my boat have caught any dust or leave any black marks, but it does sit on a trailer next to the house under a cover vs. your larger 400ss more than likely sitting in a slip. Guess I'll find out soon enough as I already did the upgrade.

One thing I do like about the new "innys" is that you can service the screen on them without having to remove them completely from the boat like the old ones. Small allen wrench and you can remove the cap and access the screen for cleaning. Also no worry about them getting hit on the dock or fouling a fishing line on them. Oh and they look cooler!
