Galley table broken!!

Good morning. Here visiting a marina and last night my daughter was going to make her “bed” the galley dinette table when the table top literally fell off. The metal post broke where it attached to the table itself. It appears the aluminum post failed after so many years of the table wobbling back and forth. The big question?? Can I get it fixed? Do I have to purchase another through Formula? I’m going to try to remove it today and see if it can be welded by my mechanic. Not sure how it comes off. Anyone ever removed one? Thanks.

The aluminum poles used for the tables are a generic variety and not Formula specific. Measure the length/diameter and you will be able to find a replacement at most marine or RV supply stores. Otherwise, readily available via internet.

Oh man so cool this just posted I'm missing one and I did not know where to buy one...I did not know that they were readily available

I'll try to search harder for them... of course if anyone else finds a link please share great info

Sorry guys. These are not the standard poles like to ones for outside tables. It has a hydraulic ram inside and goes up and down by lifting a lever. Not sure what other boats they were installed on.

If you can't find the correct part check out Lagun RV and Marine tables. I like the way they move around and I think you can use your existing table so making it into a bed will still work. I always have to be careful to not smack my leg when I sit down. Also other manufacturers might make a similar product to mount a table.

So I too the table apart and the welding broke loose where the table post joins to the flange. Not going to solder in the boat so next best thing was to put 2 bolts through the sides and worked better than new. The pic I posted shows only one side done but I repeated the process on the other side. Really easy using 3/8 bolts. Avalon. That is the same table as the one I have. What is your issue? Hope this helps.
