Was winteizing boat yesterday , starboard engine was fine. Flushed engine with fresh water and brought temp up, cleaned strainer , hooked up antifreeze bucket . All good. Went to port engine , hooked up water to flush turned on ignition and nothing except gear engaged on display . Checked shift lever , moved it in and out , beeped like it?s in neutral , still won?t start and display is the same. Boat ran great no issues with anything when pulling into well for haul out. Anyone have this issue or know why ?

I believe the problem is the HCU. An electrical friend and I ran thru the fault codes shown on the EVC display and determined it’s a communication problem between the HCU and PCU. Faults refer to HCU. All wires between the two units have continuity. Ran thru a few other checks to determine control levers are fine. Going to order a new HCU / programmed to my engine tomorrow. Findings were also confirmed by a Volvo mechanic on Boatdiesel.com

Had to replace PCU on port engine. Had engines software updated today by Volvo Tech and found during updates the starboard PCU was bad also. Damn electronic stuff

damn that's crazy. this is certainly a first i've heard of this type of issue. at least it's diagnosed i guess....

good luck

All done, both motors have updated software. new PCU's/ Boat is ready to splash monday afternoon. only issue now is fuel gauges not working. had same issue when I bought boat 2 years ago but with an ignition key sequence I got them to work but not this year. going to check it out tomorrow
