I have a 2006 Formula 34PC and my dedicated 6amp generator battery charger has failed. I am the second owner of the boat and the charger that came with (Guest ChargePro) failed and is directly wired in to the 120volt power source. But when looking for an identical replacement I can only find a model that has a three prong 120 volt plug. If I cut the plug off to direct wire the new charger I am told it will void the two year warranty. Has anyone else had a similar problem? If so, what model did you install? Thanks.

Being an electrician, I have an issue with anything electrical having a cord and plug connection in an engine room on a gasoline operated boat. I highly recommend cutting the cord and hard wiring the charger. I would also make sure the charger you purchase is ignition protected which means it is safe in a gasoline environment and does not cause sparks.
TurboJoe, thanks so much. I'll look this up.I went with the ProMariner 44006, and did cut the end off the plug. However, it looks like promariner has been getting questions on this and came up with a nifty solution: ProMariner 51300 Black Univeral AC Plug Holder. No more cutting.
