In-line water filter

To those of you with a 37 pc, what in-line filter would you put in between the fresh water tank and the rest of the system? There is one at Home Depot by WATTS. Others ?? ?Difficult to plumb in? Restrict flow? There is ample room under the galley sink.

Two years ago we were in a marina which had bad water so we installed a water filter on the dock between the water outlet and the boat. Do you have problems with water in your area in general?

I use clorox in the tank but would like to filter after the tank . I also use the "external" setup at a marina. Dockside water flow does not flow through the tank and I use this water very little.

I RECOMMEND FILTERING FRESH WATER BEFORE IT GOES INTO THE BOAT. ON A 37PC, THE STRAINER ON THE SUCTION SIDE OF THE PUMP IS LOCATED BEHIND THE REFRIGERATOR. IF THIS CLOGS, THE FRIG NEEDS TO BE REMOVED TO ACCESS IT.
I USE A CHARCOAL CANISTER MOUNTED ON THE DOCK, AND CHANGE FILTER REGULARLY.
AS FOR TRAVELING, I USE AN INLINE FILTER THAT ATTACHES DIRECTLY TO THE GARDEN HOSE. NOT SURE OF THE BRAND, BUT WILL CHECK AND POST LATER.

We use exteranl softner/filter on the dock before the boat.

We usually never drink the water from the tank(unless its for coffee). Always have a case or 2 of bottled water on boad.

Hey seadoc, you may want to think about using vinegar instead of clorox as a flushing agent. It cleans just as well without the thought of how much is still around when I think I have flushed it all out.

I also use warm vinegar and water in the vacu-flush toilet to keep the rubber seals clean and lively. It is a less abrasive cleaner than the clorox for your boat systems.
