Installation of wood flooring in the cabin....

I am thinking about tearing out the carpeting in the cabin and replacing with a wood floor product. Has anyone else done this? If so does Formula install an underlayment below the carpeting and pad or do they glue it right to the glass floor? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what wood flooring products would work well? Also I would want to convert the steps to wood. Do the steps unscrew from the step rail so I could take them to a woodworker who could use them as a template to make a the steps to match?

TIA.

I have been thinking about putting down a wood floor also. Haven't done it as of yet. I believe that a thin sub floor is necessary. I have been looking at a product called Amtico. I have seen it in a number of boats it looks good and holds up well. One day I'll bit the bullet and do it.

Go to the MODS section on the forum and check out the replies to ?Installing Wood Finish Floor In Cabin?.
I replaced the rug with a Bellawood cherry floor in our ?95 31 PC plus some cabinet mods. You may
find it helpful.
