Installing Cockpit A/C

I am thinking of adding an AC unit to my cockpit. For simplicity sake I could use the seacock for my genny to T into a separate strainer to feed the new AC pump. Is this advisable?

No, the genny intake is sized for what is needed to cool the generator. You must have a separate intake for the a/c.

Are there any 2002-2005 vintage 40pc owners with cockpit A/C out there that can share location of AC or manual diagram of factory installation? I would greatly appreciate it!!!

You CAN use a single intake, the key is of course making sure the pump size is enough for both units...so it can be done and in many boats, it does work that way.

Im pretty certain that my 45 has one pick up for all 3 AC units. I would verify that the macerator is a scoop if you choose that route. I remember that only being a discharge, round thru hull fitting. Do not think it would be consistent under way.

It is just a flush mount round. Recommended to have a scoop. It’s also possible to just buy the scoop and mount over the flush mount. What’s interesting is my original genny pick up is also flush mount and I have 0 problems w pick up underway at 32mph or stationary…. Hmmmmm

Just so everyone is very clear, a scoop intake cannot be placed on a generator as it will force water into the cylinders.

Gsent, wasn’t implying to put a scoop on genny. Just as an add if he was contemplating the mac as a pick up. Sorry for confusion
