I sent this email to the dealer but figured I would drop it in here in case anyone has seen this issue.
Good morning. We have been trying to configure the Easy Connect and have run into an issue. Hoping you can guide us toward a resolution. First the particulars:
Boat:
2007 Formula 40PC
Engines:
Twin Volvo
D6-370D-B IPS
S/N 2006014360
S/N 2006014361
EVC-C.2
Chartplotter:
Garmin 8612
Easy Connect:
First attempt:
P/N 23096384
Second attempt:
P/N 23489948
The issue is we are only getting data on the NMEA2K bus to the chartplotter for the port engine. We tried 2 different models of the Easy Connect but see the same symptom for both. We have the original Volvo Penta displays still connected and both have good data from both engines:
But the Garmin chartplotter is only showing port:
Interestingly the config shows 2 engines:
And when we try to change the data source for the starboard RPM gauge we see the old entries (from the 23096384 part, were renamed to Port and Starboard) and the new part:
The starboard gauge is correctly defaulting to Engine 2 (port is Engine 1)
Additionally, the app on Android is only showing the port engine:
And we have also noticed the lights on the unit do not light up at all if ONLY the starboard engine is turned on. If port is on or both are on, the lights are normal (both are flashing)
We are thinking there is some configuration setting in the EVC that needs to be tweaked in order for the data to flow from the starboard engine.
