Kohler 7.3E Smokes when cold

When I first start the generator it smokes, a greasy type of smoke. Once warmed up, runs fine and no longer smokes. Takes maybe 5 minutes.

I recently had to replace the fuel heater / choke. Nothing else other than spark plugs.

Could it be that I just don't have the choke adjusted correctly?
