Kohler Generator consumption in GPH?

Hi, lots of the new gas formulas are coming with a Kohler 7.5EKD like the one on my 350ss. Does anyone know how much gas it burns per hour approximately?
Thx

Fuel usage, of course, depends on load. With an "average" load (50% load, 50% of the time), fuel usage is slightly higher than 1.2 gph.

Thanks for the guidance. It's definitely a number to start with. But how do I measure which load I'm using? I usually run the a/c and battery charger only. Microwave, range etc are only on for a few minutes.
Thanks!

I suspect your air conditioning and battery charger draw about 30% - 40% of the power your generator is capable of producing. That amount of power generation will probably use between 1 - 1.5 gallons of fuel per hour.

Don't forget that your generator will run out of fuel when your port tank reaches about 1/4 full (the generator pickup ends at about 2" above the bottom of the tank so you cannot run the tank dry).

Flashback to 2007.

Struggled with my genny for the longest time until I figured this one out. Less than 1/4 tank she aint working. Ahh... good times.

Hi all,
Am I correct that port and starboard fuel tanks have different capacities - the larger port tank supplies the generator. So when fuel gauges show 1/4 tank on each side, it does nor mean equal (gallons of) fuel in the tanks.

Correct ;D

That's odd because on my build ticket from the factory it shows both of my tanks being 90 gallons on both sides on my 31PC.

My 350ss only has one tank and the drawing does show the genset pickup being considerably higher than the ones for the engines. It doesn't say how much but 1/4 tank sounds right. I did have it happen once that stbd motor ran out of fuel right when I got to the fuel dock when I thought I had 20 gallons in the tank. After topping off I was only able to put in 150 gallons instead of the 172 that should fit in there, so the gage was right to say 20 gallons was in there but the engine still quit. Strange. The port side ran fine for another 15 minutes while I docked the boat and never stalled. I thought the pickups were at different heights but they are not as per drawing. They are also right next to each other on the tank so I don't know why one motor would run for some much longer after the other ran dry. (I didn't have the guts to try that whole maneuver again)
