Has anyone had an issue with hydraulic swimplatform coming up uneven? I have an 07 45 and the platform comes up uneven ocasionally. If so what needs to be done to correct this? emailed Latham today and awaiting their responce

Yes. All the time. If it's a little off just let the first side set and continue to hold up button and the other side will slowly come up. Listen for the "lock" click and you're all set. If the platform is way off- like 6 inches or more- just extend it all the way out and then raise it again. It should come up even after that. I emailed Latham once about this issue. They were very receptive and sent me material explaining the balancing technique and checking the hydrallic fluid. Hope this helps.

happens occasionally -

I have found that if you stop raising it right after it clears the surface of the water for about 10 seconds to let all the water drain out of the platform it almost always comes up evenly.

don't know if you ever heard anything from Latham, but i actually called them about this last year. they said that it's "impossible to synchronize two completely independent hydraulic motors"...or something to that effect. they told me that you should always extend completely before raising, and that if it gets out of sync go down a few inches, and then resume up. try not to let it be much more than a few inches separated when it gets close to the stop position.

I have experience this issue as well, in both directions... I have heard shrieks of horror more than once as my wife/stepdaughter whoever discovers that only one side of the platform has begun to descend. The solution in that direction is to raise the platform back up, STAND ON THE OUTSIDE EDGE OF THE PLATFORM, and let the descent begin again.

Similarly, I seem to have pretty good luck getting it back up evenly (or pretty close) by standing on the platform, something which only I seem to be able to do correctly.

The 2 sides of the platform are connected together hydraulically speaking, and theoretically there are no issues with just holding teh button down until both sides are all the way up.

All of that said, has anyone ever really let the platform all the way down? I'm always afraid that it'll fall out, and I'll have to collect it from the bottom of the river.

I'm in a 48 yacht owner, I too have the uneven swim platform issue, has to be hydraulic fluid I'm thinking. I have it in Monday ill share what I find. How fast did your 48 run wot? I've trim tab issues I think.

Mine has stopped working completely.
I hear a solenoid clicking when I use the wired or wireless remote, but the hydraulic pump does not run. Any ideas?

I had to replace the motor a few years ago. Latham is very helpful. They walked me through a few test to find the problem. Over the years I find that if the platform isn't used the motor will lock up. Just tap it with a hammer and it works. There is also an inline fuse which could be blown. Hope that helps.

Had this exact problem. Turned out to be the breaker had popped right next to the engine switches in the engine room.

Anyone with the Latham lift put their seadoo/jetski on it? The weight limit is going to be really close with mine.

i did a few times...was really close on the weight limit too since mine was a 3 seater seadoo gtx. just know that any weight you put back there will affect your running angle...you could end up nose high.

eventually we stopped bringing the seadoo because we hated tripping over the chocks in the platform.

Jlanka, Limit is 1600 gross. Platform is 750 lbs by itself. Seadoo -also a 3-seater - is 755 lbs dry.
Thanks for the input, twarble.

If solenoid is clicking, that suggests problem is at the pump motor. Some thoughts -- There is probably a manual lever on the pump to operate it. Try that to see if the pump works. I don't think there is a circuit breaker on the pump, but if so, verify that it has not tripped. Also, put a voltmeter on the output from the solenoid or input to the motor to verify that the solenoid is delivering 12V to the pump. If it is delivering 12V, then probably have to replace the pump motor.

One more thought, a small amount of corrosion at the connections to the motor may be enough to create a problem - even if corrosion is not clearly visible. Wouldn't hurt to clean those connections.

If it's clicking it could also be the high-voltage circuit breaker....

Is a dedicated breaker for the platform .... mine is a little black toggle button in the engine compartment
