Leaking gear oil

We noticed our gear oil lube bottle monitor reservoir was a little low fallowed the hose back to transom sore enough a leak, the 90 Degree quick connector to transom (Where it connects to gear lube reservoir fitting) the Nylon hose clamp had broken, can’t tell if the quick connector is Brocken were hose connects so ordered new,
My question is I don’t want to remove hoses or start tearing things thinks apart. I can’t seem to get my hands to the quick connector but get very close,
I can get a screw driver to hit quick connector release clip, but putting back on?

The old brass ones were a pain to do anything with but at least they very rarely broke. Those plastic type are just crap, but makes it quick for the initial install.

I think the only chance and getting room to grab is to remove the water inlet hose fitting. It still may not work but may help. This is a pic of mine when I was doing the bravoits fix, not a great pix

I believe your wright, but I know I can hit the white Butten on quick connector to open but putting back on may be a different story, if I must keep the white Butten pressed and use a lot of presser to snap back in then yes removing the water inlet hose will have to happen.
All depends on how it goes back on
I’m staying hopeful until parts come-in, LOL

Update with photos-------------------We fixed the lube monitor leak. The 90-degree quick connector to transom brock were hose connects to it
And yes, we had to remove the water line connecter there no way to reach around to the quick connector.
PS I said we fixed not totally true, admiral fixed it, I just handed parts and tools and some very very good advice LOL, I couldn’t even get my head back there LOL

With the shoddy work this place did on my engine, I'll be checking here for a leak on mine as well. the lube bottle seemed low.

That is truly a boat loving family, when the Admiral is willing to make repairs possible. Kudos to the Admiral!

The Admiral said Thank you it made her feel good, funny thing is 5 years ago the Admiral was terrified of boats I mean scared sh_tless no exaggeration, now she’s lets get if fixed and go boating,
Without the Admiral id, be spending a fortune on repairs the 280ss is so tight spaced
More then that she makes boating fun, she has never said I don’t feel going, or just go with your friends all go next time, it’s always well I’m waiting let’s go boating
