Lewmar Windlass NOT GETTING POWER TO TURN - 2002 27PC

I took the windlass motor out and tested it (cleaned it up while I had it out). IT WORKS when direct to battery.
When I reinstall it doesn't respond.
Hear clicking sound from foot buttons and from helm.
WHAT CAN IT BE? SELONOID? CORRODED WIRE?

Place a meter on the windless connections, then press the switch and see if voltage drops. If it does you have corrosion, bad connection, relay

Thanks AllDodge. I'm trying to locate the solenoid. It's not the one you showed me. My windlass is a Lewmar Concept Windlass and it gets installed with its own solenoid. I'm trying to find where it was placed so I can test it. NOTHING IS EASY ON A BOAT!

It's the classic clicking that happens when there's not enough power making it through.
Heading out now to see if I can find where the darn solenoid is on the boat.
Thanks!

I had a similar problem with my windless on my 04 31PC after tracing the circuit out I had corrosion on the main windless breaker witch is located next to the battery switches starboard aft. I would start there and work your way forward. Good luck and whatever you do do NOT leave that dock without some kind of functional anchor and line incase you break down you need to immediately anchor your vessel-it could save your life...I know I know I am a bit of a safety junkie lol
Good luck Nick

I have the same problem on my 37 PC. Mine works intermittently. I think I'll check the main breaker like Nick mentioned. For what it's worth, I replaced my solenoid and that didn't fix it. Still just makes that clicking noise when you press the button. I also replaced all my batteries because Lewmar told me that could be it, but no luck there either. I seem to be getting the voltage I need to the windlass, but maybe there's some corrosion on the breaker that is causing fluctuating voltage. In my 37 PC the solenoid was hidden all the way forward under the berth. Let me know if you figure anything out!

Adolfo do you have the binders that came with the boat? They provide some electrical component locations on the boat. If that does not help call Formula with the serial no off the stern of the boat and they can tell you where the solenoid is located. Good luck Nick

To all you guys who helped my last year...many thanks! I found the solenoid and replaced with a new one. Still doing my windlass by hand.
I'm going to spend time on the boat this weekend and will report back. Got a late start w/ this pandemic. Now it's time to get away on the water.

Where on the 27PC is the solenoid located?? I have the same click but not working windlass ( intermittent once in a while it does work....) main power solenoid in the engine compartment tests good - passing 12v when the windlass switch is on.
I know the relay / solenoid is up front somewhere trying not to tear too much up looking for it.
thanks!

I think its behind the TV, but just a guess, I would have to look. I was installing a chain counter up on the bow and its not there

FOUND IT! removed kick panel just forward the front cushion of the V- berth........... it's up in there :)
