Low oil pressure

Anyone ever experience low oil pressure 10 hours after oil filter change? Gauges were checked with manual pressure gauge on each Engine three times and sending units were swapped and oil filters were changed. Local Volvo recommended using Volvo filters which I am doing today. His next suggestion was checking the four external relief valves. Hope he is right otherwise it’s the oil pump. Also was wondering about external engine oil filter, if it is cooking the oil, therefore rendering oil viscosity useless. My only problem with that is, why doesn’t Engine temperature gauge increase also, they stay constant at 180. But I did enjoy the 45 short trips and 100 NM in the last 2 1/2 months I have owned her.

What pressure are you reading at idle when cold, and does it change when warmed up?
Does the Temp gauge stay at 180 even when the engine is cold?

Pressure at idle when cold is 35lb on SB and 90 lb on Port, when engine warms up SB remains on 35lb and Port comes down to 60lbs. If I increase idle to 2000 RPM no load for 5 seconds SB increases to 75 and Port to 90lb. Now go out for a ride to get to put a load on and SB goes down to 30lb after 10 minutes and Port is at 60lbs, Take SB out of gear and pressure drops to 29lbs. REGARDING TEMP GAUGES - they start at lowest possible and increase as engine warms which takes quite a while at idle, and when warm Temperature remains constant on both motors thru-out the test - temp only goes up to 185 - 190 on WOT which I only keep for under a minute.

Don't see it being the filter, but if these motors use a bypass filter I would look in this area first.

Which model engine are they? TAMD-74 maybe

Yes TAMD74EDC A/P - Thanks for the advice and answers, will probably do filters tomorrow, never got to do them the other day, trying to be positive with the easy way out - but is the motor has to come out it has to come out. The Formula salesman at Norwalk Boat show stated he would keep that boat going for ever, it's the beast boat Formula made.

I would do the valves and pistons before pulling the motor. Its my understanding that the motor was doing fine then had the oil changed and dropped oil pressure.

Just an update - changed the filters on the SB motor and when started engine to put the pink in gauge went right to 90lbs just like the P motor. KNOCK ON WOOD, at least i will sleep for 4 months now
