Low water pressure

I was having this problem late last year and it seems to still be an issue. I bypassed my hot water tank [not working and don't really need it at this time] by connecting the cold and hot line together. now I'm having low water pressure issue on all the taps but especially in the galley and head where it's just a trickle. I'm thinking the fresh water vent is blocked causing an air lock? When I disconnected the tubes to do the by pass there was a ton of pressure built up in the piping, more than I would have thought...it made a noticeable pop when I pulled the tubing out of the fitting. Any ideas?

There's usually a small filter between the tank and pump to collect small debris; have you cleaned that lately?

There is a vent for the fresh water tank, have to have that in order to displace the air when filling the tank. Check and make sure it isn't clogged/blocked/kinked

Take the aerator off of the faucets and soak them in vinegar. More than likely the issue. You can also use lime away.

Easy test to make sure you are getting proper flow too.

My fresh water tank is under the V birth. Deck fill is on the starboard bow and the vent is below the fill on the side of the hull very near the anchor locker drain. Not sure on your 27 but surely someone here will know. Maybe Tom's 26PC is the same and can chime in.

My fill is on the port stern and fresh water tank sits just below the wet bar. I assume the vent would be near the fill then?

BTW, I check the strainer at the pump inlet and it's completely clear so I've ruled that out.

Update: The simple solution was the answer. The aerators were completely clogged on both galley and head sinks along with the toilet water inlet strainer. The all work now but there's some serious deposits that are coming out of the faucets. Almost looks like sand that was clogging the strainers. After I cleaned them a day later the same issue. Took them off and saw the sandy deposits back again. Leaving them off for now in hopes of flushing the lines over time.

I would suggest a prefilter on the hose you use to fill the fresh water tanks. Most of the sand is probably coming in from your source.
We have this problem on Block Island and these filters solve the issue.

I was thinking the same thing, sandy water at the source. Didn't think of the filter though. Any suggestions?

I've used Camco from Wally World now for three years, changing the cartridge at the end of our season (5-6 months).

Never any smell or build up. We make ice and even that is good! Cheap and easy.

Not to hijack this, but also yes to hijack this...

My fill is on my anchor locker hatch topside on the bow, if water gets down in there where does it flow?

There a drain in your anchor locker. Sometimes it gets plugged with dirt, bugs etc. Good idea to clean it out periodically.

If you can, go out and anchor, letting a bunch of chain out. What I used to clean it was a skinny dryer/lint brush, they're skinny and bendable so you can snake them in the drain a bit. they also work great for clearing dirt out of the gap between the dash and the windshield.

I'm not sure of it drain overboard or into the forward bilge.

MOST drain overboard, you should be able to see a small fitting near the bottom of the locker (you can see from the hull of course) - that is what needs cleaned.

Hate to revive an old thread, but I'm having similar issues, but only in my head. My shower and my sink are trickling out water but I have great pressure elsewhere.
Where can I locate these strainers on a 2013 31PC? I want to clear those. I tried hooking up the water hose to the back of the boat to see if I'd get better pressure, but I do not.

Not sure how to take the aerator off of the faucets/shower heads, but I'll give that a look too.
