Microwave went casters up

FYI I replaced the microwave in out '95 31PC with a MAGIC CHEF, MODEL MCD770W, .7 CU.FT., 700 W. I found it at the Home Depot. I had to cut a 1/4" off the top of the trim that is attached below the microwave. Check out the photo.

The rest of the carpet will stay as is.

2 quick questions, was the microwave that croaked the original and on the replacement, could you have removed the pads on the bottom to get the clearance needed without modifying the trim?

Mine died this year and had to replace and did not have to cut any trim.I will get the make and model number that I used this weekend.

The rear feet on the MCF were part of the bottom of the unit. I changed the location of the holes the feet anchor into so the unit is stable when under way.

thanks guys, i think we'll be replacing our original sometime over the winter and was wondering what would fit and if any mods would be needed.
