motor issue at full throttle ?

Yesterday I was able to run full throttle on the bay and hit about 4800 rpm on each motor. It was running super smooth but after a minute or so a warning alarm came on and the boat stumble and slowed some so I slow down. My starboard engine was up around 180ish degrees. Normal is around 165 -170 for me. Could that be hot enough to cause an alarm? Or maybe it was something else. I may have trimmed up a bit too much because I also noticed that the trim showed on the gauge and it usually does not. Could that cause water flow into Bravo 3 to slow or stop?

prior to me changing my manifolds i would get over 180 a few times, even 190 and no alarm. I think the thermostats are 180 degrees so 180 and a little above should be fine.

I think it's pretty normal for the engines to run a little hotter when running them hard, about 150 - 180 is normal. I wouldn't be worried about engine temps damaging the engine until they get above 220.

Something set off my alarm though. Do you know what temp makes that happen. I also wonder if stopping water flow thru the Bravo drive would set off the alarm before the engine overheats. .

If you impeller lost pressure it would set off the alarm.... it's happened to me in the past few times

Ahh, so water is coming in but impeller is not doing its job. How do you figure that out, through elimination?

Couple possibilities if your H2O pressure is low assuming your sensor is after the raw water pump:
Bad impeller or entire housing, Hardin Marine offers a stainless aftermarket pump with a wear plate.
Could be your intake hose running through the transom (google bravoitis) collapsing at higher rpm's, in turn less water flowing through the heat exchangers.
