PC under water exhaust

Hi Guys,

I have a 2002 41 PC Volvo diesel with the under water exhaust. I think Formula used this system on all the bigger PC's from about 2001 until they started using IPS. Anyway, both engines exhaust is routed to a "box" at the stern which exits under water at the bottom of the transom. There are two relief ports about 2 1/2 inches which exit out each side for low speed running. The box is split vertically by a fiberglass baffle oriented fore and aft. The baffle is adhered to the front of the box and the transom, which makes up the rear of the box by plexus adhesive. At least in my case it used to be. The trailing edge has come unstuck from the transom and it vibrates like crazy. Feels almost like a prop vibration under way.

Anybody out there with a late model PC have this happen? Any solutions? Thanks!

Here's the back panel of the exhaust box. Inspection ports were put there at the factory, why I don't really know. They are normally closed so the exhaust Exits under the boat. You can see a line of holes vertically where I attempted to hold the baffle in place with stainless screws last year. Only partially successful.

Looking up inside the exhaust box at the exhaust outlet from the engine and the smaller above the water line low speed relief outlet. You can see the glopped up adhesive that is not adhered to the baffle on the left.
