Pelee Island Trip from this past weekend

The admiral and I went up to Pelee for a weekend getaway. Went up Saturday and came back Sunday afternoon. The lake was a bit rough on Satruday, with 3-5' waves out of the northeast, but we ran on the west side of Pelee and were sheltered for the a portion of the trip there. The trip back was uneventful running with the waves.

We had a great time, despite the winery closing at 4:00pm. We had dinner at the Anchor & Wheel Inn, which we try to do every time we are on the island. We went back to the winery on Sunday and enjoyed a nice lunch there with an obligatory bottle of wine. Scudder Marina is only open through the end of September if anyone is looking to make the trip.

Looks great! it did get a little sloppy out there saturday afternoon. So the facilities up there are nice?

The wife and I did a trip up to Leamington Marina end of August, had a great time there. We were impressed by the facilities and the Marina personel, very helpful and friendly. We were thinking of doing a trip to Pelee Is but will proabley have to wait till next year.

The facilities are OK, but no where near the level that Leamington has. Scudder Marina does have 30 and 50 amp electrical, but they do not have potable water yet. They have ha this issue for many years and have not gotten enough $$ to fix it. If you stay there, make sure you have water in your tanks. There is taxi service on the island to get to the Winery and other places on the island. We bring our bikes along and prefer biking the island. We like it because it is different than Kelly's or Put-In Bay.
