Okay. Had alternator and raw water pump replaced went to start port engine, beep and heard fuel pump...but nothing. After three tries engine start s
next day tried starting, nothing ..tried moving some wires to see loose connection but still nothing. Just beep and fuel pump.
second try of disconnecting connector for neutral safety switch, mounted on bracket next to shift linkage.engine cranked and started, checked a number of times..

ideas? Neutral safety switch hung up?
appreciate thoughts

Owo6955. Horizon 6.2. Same problem this am. Disconnected connection for neutral safety switch a couple of times, last time I’m pretty sure I heard a click when pin came down..then engine started
mechanic worked on starboard side of motor and claims no wires he could have hit

O's a re zeros = 0W06955X need one more digit, but gets me close enough

Your motor

Its probably not your neutral safety switch, my first guess is the slave relay (item 23)

The slave relay is energized by the key switch when the key is turned to "start". The relay energizes and sends power down to the starter solenoid and the motor cranks. There is some testing that can be done to verify the issue, but the part is cheap and goes out over time.

You can either replace it, and its on top of the motor. Or the next time it will not crank, have a voltmeter handy. There are 4 wires on the solenoid, 2 large Yellow/Red and Red/Purple on the top studs. There will be a Black on one of the lower small terminals and a Yellow/Red small wire or another color. When key is turned to "start" the small yel/red wire should go to 12V. If it does and the motor does not crank, the relay is bad

Well we jumped the switch, gear indicator 18 on throttle bracket and that worked..but will keep the other in mind. Thanks
