I ran across this over on the Donzi Forum.

How about 650 HP & 100+ MPH in a 22 foot Deep V with a single Alpha 1!!!

This is a great read and has me re-thinking moving to twin Bravo 1's in my Formula 255 Liberator

I here ya...but seriously...a single in a light boat like the 22 they are running or twins in a <6500 lb boat with small blocks makes sense. I read some testimonials about this and was suprised that every one swears by the "Red Line" Shock Gear Oil. If you don't hole shot hard regularly and don't catch air often they will live.

All of this makes me look around and listen because No. 1's and Alphas are plentiful and 4:1 cheaper than Bravos. You can change one out in 20 minutes. They're on Craigslist all the time here in Florida for around $500.

Alpha ones are good for max 300 hp on a good day! Yes you can run it, but a hole shot will really kill it fast. I would up grade.

Yeah...I guess you're right...$10K~$12K for the conversion would only let me replace the Alphas 20~24 times...gee that's a no brainer!!
