New to me 41 PC with cummins 450's just getting 2600 rpm running 23x23 4 blade props, I need to get at least 2700 rpm max and was wondering what everyone else was running?

Thanks

Here's an old test I found online...not sure if it's relevant to you because it seems to reference 5 blade props..

Thanks Boathound

Been told and have read not to overload diesels (boatdiesel.com) should run 100 rpms over rated. Looking to here what others are running with our 41 PC.
Thanks again.

Mike, I hear you, I'm a long time follower of Boatdiesel. For what it's worth, my Volvos are propped to turn 2650 which is rated max, not over and I'm comfortable with that. Also I run the boat at 2250 and Volvo specified cruise is 2400. My opinion, the 41 is a relatively light boat and if you can turn max RPM and you don't push it, your diesels will out last you. Until of course "marine age" kills them for one reason or another!

Mike, I agree with Boathound, I have a hydraulic TNT lift and a 850 lb dingy which adds significant weight to the stern and I'm still able to get 2650 RPM at WOT. I did have the props tuned to factory specs, my cruise is 2200 RPM and depending on sea conditions I go 22 - 24 Knots. If you can turn 2600 RPM at WOT it doesn't get any better, you can expect many years of great performance from your Formula. I am also a member of boatdiesel.
