Quick question about Isenglass...........

I am going to clean ands polish my isinglass today. It is a nice warm and sunny day here in Chicago. Is it okay to clean and polish the glass out in the sun or should I not do it in the direct sunlight?

TIA

Hope you were able to get to your cleaning today. I would try to get away from direct sunlight when cleaning. The sun's rays on the cleaning product is what will do damage to your glass. The long term effect is the glass starts to brown or yellow when product is left on the surface. Have several soft, clean drying towels always at the ready.

I am going to use Mothers Glass/Plastic polish and cleaner with a soft red Mothers powerball attached to a low speed battery drill for the large pieces and by hand on the smaller. My brother used this combo on his Sea-Ray glass and it came out crystal clear. Has anyone else tried this and if so how were your results?

TIA

Just make sure the powerball is clean. You might want to rinse it in clean water before you use it. One loose particle and you're done!

I ended doing the small pieces by hand and they came out great  I am starting the front glass tonight and the back tomorrow night as I have a new job so I don't have all day to do it ;D ;D I am having screens put in on the small port and starboard glass pieces in front of the arch. I will post some pictures when they are done.

Here is some pics of the glass with the new screens..... ;D

Looks great, I was just telling my wife that i would like to change the front side isenglass to have screens in them. May I ask how much did this setup cost you?

It was a package deal because I had them waterproof both of my front and back bimini's also, but all together it was $400.
