Just for anyone still waiting, it took 3 months to the day from sending in the application by fax to receiving the new Documentation. Also anyone having trouble getting on the OFFICIAL USCG site - tried Safari, Google, Chrome all scythe can't find the site.

It took me almost 4 months also. I was told the USCG was way behind. Looks like they still are.

When I first purchased my current Formula in the summer of 2014, it took about 3 or 4 months until I finally got the USCG paperwork so I could then order the placard to mount inside the hull with my Doc No. I was always worried that the DNR was going to pull me over and ask why I had no registration number on my boat or to ask for proof of USCG documentation. Never did though. However, since the documentation process, the USCG is quite punctual in send me the annual renew with the invoice every year in November and 2 weeks after I mail it in I get the new documentation papers for the next 24 months. Seems like they're really quick to send you an invoice.......

I am still fighting with the old owner's bank; they don't appear to be competent enough to send a mortgage release to the Coast Guard. Banks...I can't stand 'em.

Yeah when I sold my boat I spent a lot of time with my bank making sure the new owner had a clean process most banks have no clue

I believe the bank is required to release satisfied liens within 30 days, let the bank know you'll file a complaint with the OCC and CFPB if not released immediately. The complaint is easy to file online. good-luck

I traded my old boat in when buying my current Formula, and it was documented.

About 2 months after the completed transaction, they sold my trade-in, but nobody ever thought to sign over the Documentation Certificate.

The loan guy (for the people buying my old boat) literally drove to my house so I could sign over the documentation. :D

The boat I purchased was documented but I just converted it over to state registration. I saw no benefit to staying documented and didn't want to bother with the hassle.

They supposedly sent something on 7 December. BB&T; I would highly NOT recommend them. The loan was satisfied in 2015.

Much easier to transfer title or finance, if not necessary
