Replacement Canvas

Are there any suppliers taking orders on replacement canvas as of now? I have checked with Taylor Made / Ameritex and they aren't doing anything retail right now, they are busy with factory orders. The one other option I found online wasn't doing anything for boats older than 10 years. Our new to us boat is a 2005 34PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The local canvas shop doesn't make house calls and without a trailer I was hoping to just order something that is a factory replacement. Any help greatly appreciated!

Your best bet will likely be to deliver your old canvas to a local shop and let them produce replacements using the originals as patterns.

We had new canvas and seat upholstery made for our 41PC last year. The local canvas shop doesn’t do acceptable work. I had a shop from Bay City do the work. Bay City is about an hour away and they did an excellent job. I had to pay extra for travel time but it was well worth it. Maybe look around further away and find a shop. Besides using the old curtains for patterns isn’t a good idea we wanted to make a lot of changes to the panels.

I will also say that going with Taylor Made / Ameritex is not a slam dunk even if they were selling to the public. I ordered new bimini tops and front enclosure for my boat and the front enclosure would not fit. Went back and forth with them for 2 seasons trying things, sending it back, etc and it just would not fit. They were great to work with but ultimately refunded me since it just wouldn't work.

I have a commercial sewing machine and have made enclosures for 5 of our boats. Don’t do it anymore due to arthritis in my fingers, but it would be very difficult to order canvas made for an older boat. For a new boat they can install the snaps where the canvas needs them but I wouldn’t trust that they would have the correct positioning on an older boat. When we had canvas done on our 41PC they used plastic patterning material, it has embedded strips so it won’t stretch out of shape, and put dots on the patterns for the snaps. It fit perfectly but then again they are the best canvas shop in the area. They went the extra effort to make sure everything was just so before they called it done. I could have had the local shop do the job for less but I wanted an excellent job since the Formula is a quality boat.

You may want to check with Ameritex again. I bought canvas from them in January and their website says they are taking orders. They shipped my order in about 2 weeks.

Hi - also looking for replacement canvas for 2007 PC 40 with hardtop. Any other recommendations besides Taylor Made / Ameritex? Our local shops are booked up and searching a few online dealers who can take part numbers.

Dropped the old skins off at the local canvas shop yesterday. The Ameritex canvas that I thought was original was actually manufactured in 2019. It was totally trashed ripped everywhere. Because we need maximum watertightness they recommended Stamoid. Going with the Navy blue it is a close match to the hull side sapphire blue. I will post pictures as the project progresses.
