request for advice on panel over fridge door in 2005 pc

see post in previous topic...sliding door..no longer need to remove refrigerator..will leave off pretty but annoying panel
 
Update
Took of hardware to connect the doors. Put recommended latch on door..bought on line from Isotherm..added "offshore safety latch".. Now woks perfectly fine.Temp down to 40 degrees.. Outer wood panel not annoying as I thought...no big deal to open both doors.and still looks nice. Nothing was wrong with fridge at all.
