Well we just returned from the canal. Been in it for a month from Kingston to Ottawa and back.
373 miles 254.7 gall of fuel. Remember i drive slow 1.46 MPG 60.7 hours move time, top speed 45, avg speed 3.1 mph, 78 locks,
avg speed low because of time in locks.

I will post the log of the trip when we get it on the computer.

I was surprised.
Dawn has the log in word but not sure if i should post it or how too. Also if any one would want to read it.
Some funny things happened and a few goof ups also.

Is the RIDEAU part of the St. Lawrence Seaway or is it completely different? If you are doing a New York mini-loop don't you take it going to or coming from Lake Champlain? As Troy asks, can you post some pictures, they have got to be some beautiful scenes.

Working on log and pics.

The canal goes from Kingston Ont. to Ottawa. All but 3 locks are hand operated.
Was built to defend Canada against USA war 1812.

They kept the canal as we filled in the Erie canal and built the barge canal.

you can use it on the way to champlain but you can just go down the St Lawrence also.
