Salon Table sliding down

Our salon table does not completely stay up all the time. It will slowly start moving down and we have to reposition it back up? Does anyone have a solution to try?
 
I haven’t tackled replacing the piston inside yet. Took the table top off (pretty heavy be careful) there’s a nitrogen piston inside the cylinder similar to the bunk pistons. They leak over time and become weak like car hood pistons. Plan on replacing this year just haven’t yet.
 
Don't know where I heard this (likely this forum) but you have to replace the whole base which is close to 1500 bucks! That's just from memory. Try to do a search. Good luck!
