Sat TV

hey guys,
i'm still trying to figure out all of the switches, etc on this boat, but technically, i'm not sure how this would work anyways....

does the Sat TV show up on anything other than the salon TV? i only see a single receiver, but i was hoping that the signal would be split across all 4 TV's. the salon gets the HDMI feed, but coming out of the receiver is also a set of RCA's. i know there's not RCA connection for the cockpit TV, but i was hoping maybe they did a signal conversion or something? perhaps the RCA output is only for the master and aft TV's? i couldn't get any signal on either yesterday. i'm trying to decide whether or not to activate my account...not sure if i will for just the salon TV.

any ideas?

thanks,

I have two televisions and one line run up to cockpit and you can watch Sat Tv from all of them or you can watch Sat tv on one or more and antenna off the others, etc.

is that setup from factory? or did you do that yourself? i'm trying to figure out if the factory did anything to get Sat on any of the other TV's, but i can't see how. there's a 3-way switch next to the cd changer, and i can only figure out what 2 of them do (shore cable, and antenna). on top of that, there's only a coax run to the cockpit TV, so i'm not sure how to get the Sat up there. on top of that, each TV has about 5 input's, so trial and error is getting tiresome. ;)

if you did this yourself, what did you split coming out of the Sat receiver? the RCA's?

thanks,

i just found this thing, which converts RCA to coax....

http://www.amazon.com/RCA-CRF907-Co...KV7W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312163738&sr=8-1

i'm wondering if this is what's on the C position of the 3 way switch? i tried using the C position, but i couldn't get anything on channel 3 of the 'antenna' input on the master TV. i just had a thought that it might be due to me having it set up for digital TV though...i might have to switch to analog??? any ideas?

thanks,

I think we have the same setup, the single DTV receiver feeds into a audio video spliter or multiplier its under the center salon seat, make sure its on it has two inputs av1 and av2, on mine its av1...

thanks mark-ttini...that sounds very interesting, and like a likely culprit. i've never seen this though, so i'll dig around when i'm back down there...thanks again!

okay, i figured it out! it was an easy fix too, which is always awesome. :D

first, i spoke with TAG and they said that it should just work if you're on VIDEO1 on every TV, or if you tuned to channel 3 on the Antenna feed. neither worked...

i finally found both the A/V splitter, and the RCA to coax converter. it was behind the back cushion in the center of the salon couch. i had to trace wires to figure that one out. once i pulled the cushion out, i noticed that the A/V splitter was on AV2 as opposed to AV1. once I switched it to AV1, everything worked as described except that the TVs need to be on VIDEO2. like i said, an easy fix. wish they were all like that. :)

some pics attached in case anyone else gets into a similar situation...
