As the title suggests, i'm trying to figure out how to remove the back rest section of the settee. it seems to be connected either at wall below the curtains or maybe in the corners below the power distribution panel and radio panel. i already removed all the screws on the ends but something is still connected. anybody know where else i need to look?

i learned new trick!! see above.

Doug,

I am attaching a picture for your backrest removal. Not the greatest drawing, however it should get the point across. You will need to remove the screws from the underside. Then the whole backrest will lift straight up and out. If you have any questions please contact me at chrise@formulaboats.com.

awesome, thanks! looks like i need to dig deeper, the first two brackets are loose but i can't seem to locate the ones back near the corners. i will take the snake camera home for a better look.

funny, i took mine apart yesterday and just happen to have taken a bunch of pics for future reference.

i highlighted the insertion points on my 45...the green are just posts, no bolts. the red need bolts removed. i'm guessing you missed the one in the bend of the back...2nd red from the left. btw...the right most green and red are from the center section.

hope this helps.

I'm nowhere near the point of taking my boat apart, but I'm glad someone is already, so when I need/want to do so, I have plenty of reference material. :)

Also encouraging to see Formula folks on here. :)

There should be nuts on the underside of the backrest that attach to bolts coming from the underside of the back rest through the seating platform. Then as cjeverett stated, lift up the back rest and it should just pull out. You may need to give it a few wiggles as you lift up. The backrest is in sections so try to find the separation. Additionally, the top of the back rest has bolts/ posts through the top of the seat frame that are not bolted but do provide holding power thus the wiggling.
