speedo and hour meters stopped working at the same time?

Hey all. This is weird and hoping someone can give some insight as to why. This actually happened last summer and my marina never got to it before it went back in this year. The only thing done last year was a new Garmin plotter. I assumed they disconnected something when they installed it but yesterday they opened the dash and said all the gauges have juice to them. The tachs do work. He says the gauges need replacement or rebuilding. Does this sound right? All three at the exact same time? I don't think the speedo is related to the hour meters? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Was working before the the plotter was installed, now it does work. You where told "it wasn't me" (so to speak), so guess there is no reason to ask a question, there broke, need new ones

update. Both tach/hour meter gauges are getting power. Yesterday I went to the boat and turned everything on. The meters, for the first time in a year showed the hours. 594.5. They were very faint and would disappear. I spoke to Formula and he gave me some rebuilder names. Looks like the signal is getting to the gauges but the display is going bad.

Both my tachs did the same thing the last time out. Very dim. I haven’t looked into it yet.
will be interested in what you find

Well , its hard to say exactly since I sold the boat , but here is what I found. They came on dimly , but enough to read the hours. This happened after the dash was taken apart to get a look and then put back together without actually replacing anything. My guess is a bad connection or ground. Good luck.

I did! Last month. I really wasnt using it. My best friend bought a 58 footer and we spend all our time on it.
