Subrella canvas color running into vinyl

Hi all,

2013 BR with Red Sunbrella bow cover and rubber backing.

Covers on the boat were hardly used if at all. Boat was stored in a boat house from day 1 til we purchased in February 2020.

After every rain, and its rainey season now in Fl, the red color runs from the material and stains the top of the seats in 3 spots.
Both seats back tops where the vinyl is sewn together at the top and the very front bow back cushion. Its strange becuase the cover touches more than just those spots. but these have the threads/joints where the vinyl is sewn and its a lighter color vinyl.

After half a day in the sun it disapears but worried if the cover is on the boat for more than 5 days or longer what would happen.


Factory 2013 Sunbrella bow cover...

any ideas?

A Friend's pontoon boat does the same thing, a reddish stain that fades in the sun and he has NO red in his seats or cover. A canvas guy said it was some mildew in the cushions under the vinyl, when the sun hits it, it goes away. ???

sounds like bacteria to me....if you are storing inside, try storing without the covers to test?
