Swim platform

swim platform

I've tried to make contact with them, little success. I got a quote for one from swimplatforms.com last year, seemed to be close in price to what ultra had on their website, and looked a bit nicer, it's the shipping that really knocks the taste out of my mouth. If you are looking to buy one, maybe we could combine shipping, I'm in Peabody.

I already ordered from ultra. I was on the site and got im from Sophie and she gave me pricing. I like theirs better it has a better ladder set up. Price overall is about the same as .com but shipping around $200 less don't know how with customs charges I think .com is over charging for shipping. What boat do you have and where you keep it?

do they say it requires any fine tuning, or just bolt in place. I like that the ladder is off to the corner. What did they give you for a lead time?

there is a install video on you tube on different boat, it was about 2 weeks. there are other options, vents witch I got. handles and a seat

I ordered and installed a platform from .com, shipped to my work because I have docks and get deliveries all the time. Ladder is a Speedline, 4 step, double bar, makes boarding very easy. Only had to trim a little at each end where it goes under existing platform. Best $$ spent on an upgrade to the boat.Swim Platform 2.jpgSwim Platform 3.jpgSwim Platform 4.jpg

Installation was a single day, fortunately I was doing a repower and motors were out, otherwise you will need a very tiny person to get back there and install the through bolted hardware.

Hello Treads - I just joined Forum - I have 2004 330 ss - want to put same extended swim platform on - (I just Posted questions under "BLACKJACK") - did you have any concerns about exhaust riser height - captains call diverter? I want to put the platform on but Mercruiser and Formula say I should add height to riser - I don't know if all of the folks out there who added extended platform of only additional 22" really needs to be concerned about the exhaust issue. Any advice would be appreciated. THX

I have a 2005 330 with the factory add on swim platform. It us before they figured out how to get it all at the same level. There is no difference in the captains call outlets on mine vs those without the add on. I looked in to the new style and TAG sent me the info but it is about $6k from what i remember.IMG_7362.jpgIMG_7363.jpg

I wonder if the recommended added height to the risers is out of concern for exhaust reversion with the added weight of the platform.

Blackjack, the additional weight of the platform was not of a concern for me. I was doing a re-power, and part of that re-power included adding thru-hull exhaust to the 34PC, which required 12" drop pipes to get the exhaust under the existing molded in platform anyway. With that amount of drop in the exhaust, I was not concerned with reversion. Not sure what the setup looks like on a 330SS. I don't recall what the weight of the platform was specifically, but .com should be able to tell you an approximate weight. The stern of the 34PC sits about 2-1/2" to 3" lower after the platform is installed. I would not think it to be that much of a concern, especially if you don't back down extremely hard, or come down easy from cruising speed.

afratki, the short answer is yes, from Formula anyway. They told a friend of mine with a 99 370 SS the same thing.

Formula told me that Merc didn't make the 3" riser -elbow but that Corsa did - so Formula used those on factory extended platform applications. My exhaust was just replaced (risers manifolds etc) so I thought I could try to find 1" riser spacers... easier said than done - anyone have ideas on that option?

Ordered one from ultra last week. What is everyone’s opinion on having vents in the platform. Are they really needed?

For those that have installed an extended platform over the existing, what did you do with the old swim platform door, remove it? Seal it shut?
