Through Hull Exhust question..........

My 85 F3 has through hull, however, there are what seem to be factory baffles welded into the pipes...they look like a drill bit type of shape. Anyone familiar with this? Can I replace the tips with out too much trouble for an open pipe? Bad idea?

Notice your post the other day but you mentioned posting a pic so figured I would wait to comment. The "drill bit" comment have me puzzled. Just thought about it again and think I know what your talking about. Would it happen to be something like these?

You can cut the pieces out but this helps keep water from sloshing back in. Another issue will be it would need to be cut out with a grinder or bit. Don't take a torch to it, stainless does do well with a torch. The entire tip can be replaced with another type, and I like flappers on mine, that is unless you use turn downs.
