It's been a while since I've posted anything on here but I am looking for some advice. I have a TLC " The Lift Company " hydraulic swim platform on the back of my 41PC and it is giving me issues. The main problem I am having with all of this is that the brand TLC which was located in Orlando is no longer in business so I have nobody to contact for help. The lift was having issues raising with my dinghy on it ( Avon 320 SeaSport Jet ) and would make an awful metal on metal sound until it would not lift any higher at which point id have to assist it by lifting the dinghy to take some weight off. Eventually even without the dinghy on there it was binding up and then I heard a POP and there was hydraulic fluid leaking from under the platform. I inspected the hydraulic lines and they are in good shape along with the fittings. I cannot get a visual on the actual hydraulic ram as it is mounted inside of a beam (Circled in Red) I can only assume that the ram blew a seal or maybe cracked since the fluid was leaking on both sides of that beam. I am having a hard time understanding exactly how this system works as there are two post ( Starboard and Port ) with cables inside of them that raise and lower the platform. Those cables seem to be routed into that beam where the hydraulic ram is. I had the boat short hauled yesterday in hopes that I can get a visual but to no avail, luckily the previous owner let an emergency winch on the boat so that I could manually raise the platform.
Has anyone on here seen or dealt with this kind of system?
If it does not make sense for me to repair I may look into just ditching that whole setup and go with a Hurley H30 Plus with the extension as it will support my dinghy. Which leads me onto my next question. Does anyone on here have any experience with that davit system and will it still allow enough space to walk on the platform?
