To upgrade to to not upgrade.........

So I haven't had my F3 for a year yet, I love the thing, its in great shape and we got a sweet deal on her! When I was a kid I'd always see the go fast boats up in the 1000 islands poker run and I've always wanted one, well this F3 got me in the "league" but not 100%. I've been loving the tinkering and adding things here and there, making it 'ours' BUT I've been eyeing the 272 SR1s!! That would be it for me! Seems like a great boat, large, faster and would allow me to add power upgrades as time and cash allow, and would step me up into the realm of the larger 70+mph boats.

I know its all a matter of preference but...I'm curious to what you all think and have experienced in your years as a boat owner! These go fast boats just amaze me and I'm almost dead set on finding a sweet 272..

thoughts??

I like to ride on a go fast, but really wouldn't want to own one. To be young again, get the boat, the babes, the beer and the party.

They are made for one thing and that's going fast. Has minimal creature comforts, and most wouldn't install a Bimini. The older you get the more you find out that sun was great and has caused all kinds of skin damage. So if money was no object (and it currently still is) I would get an older 370SS with Ilmore V10's (735 hp) and will push the 15K into 70mph. That would be the top end for me. So I'll stick with my bored out 27PC for now

@ AllDodge--I can see that side of it. The PCs seem very cool for a family, Ill open up my perspective and see what I can find! Thanks!!

This is why we have the PC. Moved up from a 32' Carver.

kitcheneater,

I hear ya. Started with a 91' 292, 1 of 5 with 502's and 1.36 Bravo's, boat would do low 70's any day of the week. Wife wanted more creature comfort as AllDodge mentioned. SO we got into a 34PC and redid alot of things on the boat. Wound up with a creature comfort (floating condo) that is tricked out like a hot rod. Best of both worlds.
