Transom Hydraulic lift

I am getting a "new" 2005 Formula 40 PC this spring. It has a hydraulic PWC lift and I have never had one before. Can I get some advice on a) who makes these b) what yearly maintenance is necessary other than topping off fluids,c) do these get antifouling paint or Trilux primer and coat d) what do you do if the transom drops and does not come back up - is there a manual back up? When i inspected the boat I was told by the dealer that there was a way to raise the transom manually.

Congrats on your new boat. Latham is the manufacture of the platform. There really isn't any maintenance on the platform.If you have to add fluid you probably have a leak. I have used Trilux on the lift arms when I kept the boat in the water year round. Keep on top of the zincs as they do wear quickly in salt water. In the engine room there is a small hydraulic jack that you can manually operate as back up. It takes quite a bit of pumping to get it up. Latham is very helpful if there is a problem. Had a tech on the phone for over an hour to solve a relay problem
