Underwater generator exhaust

Does anyone have an underwater generator exhaust? I just installed a Kohler 5EKD in my boat and I basically did the factory install method. It works great, its quiet in the cabin, but the exhaust is just too loud for my liking. I hear other boats with them....or rather...I don't hear them! Its not bad on deck but out the side of the boat it sounds like a damn Harley.

I have a Centek muffler installed now like OEM, but Centek is offering me a dual stage to knock some of the sound down. I've read that it can knock some db off the sound...but I'm worried its not enough. If its 5 db its not enough. I need to kill 10 at least. They have underwater exhaust systems....anyone have one on one of these Kohler gensets?

Don't know of an underwater exhaust on a Gen, just to much back pressure could cause issues with getting it to run, that is unless it had diverters (above water to start, and under to run).

Every 3 db is a 50% reduction, how much that equates to in actual hearing, depends on where you start. Yours like mine runs at 3600 rpm, and that is the issue. The larger Gens run at 1800 rpm and are much quitter.

Centek gave me a couple options today. I'm going to try them and I will report back with a before and after.
