Vacuflush issue

Hello all. This weekend I began to have a problem with my vacuum flush had on my 2002 41 PC.
After I flush the toilet, The vacuum flush would not build pressure. When I go down to the engine compartment and hit the motor of the vacuflush it would cycle. I was told this is a faulty pressure switch on the motor itself. Any ideas if this is true or do I need to replace the duck bills in the pump? Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

Put water in the bowl and make sure it isn't being sucked out first from something caught on the bowl ball ring. It could be a pressure switch, if you have 2 pumps (one to pump to the tank and 1 to pump overboard) switch the overboard with the primary pump to check the pumps. By switching them you eliminate the diaphragm under the pump. I think you can just manually adjust the pressure switch to check it. I have to do the duck bills but that job sucks, I'm dreading it.

Thanks clueless. The pumps are not easily accessible as are most things on boats. I don't think there is a blockage since I can hold pressure. I think since its original from 2002 it's time to replace the pressure switch, bellows and the duck bills. You have to be a contortionist to get into these spaces. There are no further adjustments to be made on the switch. I was reading that there is a way to bypass the switch by jumping it out. Time for an overhaul. I can't complain about 16 years of good use!!!!

Heat up some water and put it in the bowl. Also, put your hand in the toilet to ensure the duckbill isn’t blocked.....

if you are going all out rebuild I'd suggest just do a new pump. I did the full rebuild it wasn't hard but struggled some with everything working. I don't recall it was some years ago. Its also easier to contort one time and be done with it. I recommended the same to a friend who didn't take the advice, and now he tells everyone the same. Replace it.

The duck bills are the cheapest to replace and should tell you when you open them up of they are bad or not

I would certainly start with that before I go buy another motors and switches and and...

Replace the whole pump assy....not worth the headache.. Oh and NEVER use anything but marine TP....Oh and never use anything but marine TP

If you tap on the motor and it runs it's probably the motor itself. The brushes corrode and hang, the the tap makes them work. BUT don't tap on permanent magnet motors including starters. A blow to the housing breaks the magnets and adds north and south poles which reduces efficiency. With the difficulty getting to the pump it's usually best to replace them. Hate doing an ugly job twice to try to save a couple bucks.

So that PUMP/MOTOR is crazy expensive vs $40 worth of duck bill valves...just saying, make sure you know what is wrong.
