My boat didn’t come stock with autopilot but I would like to add it. I have new garmin electronics 7612xvs. I’m pretty sure I have fully hydraulic steering and not steering by wire. It’s a 2007 400SS with d6 350’s and DPH outdrives. Think this is what I would use.

Has anyone done one before? Is this DIY project or should I leave it to a pro? Are there any other options?
