Was wondering if any of the members have the Volvo Helm View option on their boat ?

Pros / Cons ?

Are you able to change the display to show various engine parameters ?

I downloaded the manual and it's very hard to understand exactly what you can and can't do with the display.
 
And... can this be added to existing volvo setups? Does it include a fuel flow meter?

Sorry for adding my own questions, but I'm curious.
 
this is what i know.
display is made for volvo by a company called f. w. murphy. they can be found by doing a google search. they manufacture different displays for many manufacturers. it will not work on my 2005 volvo, without adding all kinds of aftermarket parts to get the engines to talk to the display. maretron is the company that makes the gateways, and different modules i would need to complete job. (big money).
i believe i was told that 2007 and later models would work. i really like the design with the exception that the screen is too small. smartcraft can be shown on any northstar display, so why can't volvo helmview?
i chose to get fuel management from a northstar combo unit, gps, chartplotter, and fuel management.
floscan also manufactures fuel flow monitoring, and ties it into your nema 2000 displays. check into it an dlet us know. good luck.
