Volvo TAMD 74P-A oil viscosity and quanity

I'm the owner of a new to me 2001 41PC with VOLVO TAMD74 diesels. I was looking in the manual to see how much oil and what viscosity the engines use. I'm a little unsure though, because they give different quantities for different engine inclinations and different viscosity's for different ambient temperatures. Any 41PC owners with these engines out there ? how much and what viscosity do you use? ???

I realize that this is an older post, But I have a Diesel in my Ford F350 7.3li and I use to run Shell Rotella, great oil, Switch to a far better oil that is used in much larger diesel engines and in severe conditions. That oil is John Deere Plus 50 and Plus 50II, My truck runs better and engine temp dropped. I saw pictures of a larger JD combine engine disassembled using their oil and another engine disassembled using another brand oil and what a difference in cleanliness of the engine, nice light brown color. I am looking at 09-12 400SS with the D6-370/400 engine and will only run the JD Plus50II oil. I actually run it in all my cars just the 5w30 and 10w30 version.

Just my 2c

Hi f350. Is the Deere 50 , 50W? Not sure I would go with 50W in a marine pleasure craft where the operating temps are normally quite a bit lower than over the road vehicles. I'd be open to other brands of oil besides Shell, I just buy it because it's convenient. I change the oil every season, which is 50 hours or so, so I don't think my engines are going to die from an oil related failure. I think these days, most commercially available oil is light years ahead of where we were 30 years ago, so I think oil related engine failures are non existent more or less. That's taking for granted that the oil is changed regularly and the oil level is kept where it's supposed to be...
