What Adhesive

So I'm replacing the acrylic mirrors in the head on the flip up hinged doors above the sink. 400SS. The doors are starboard, the mirror is acrylic. The trick here is to find a glue that wont reactivate the coating on the mirror but will stick on the Polyethelyne. Hmmm. I saw the starboard video about slightly heating the door to remove the sheen but I think those aggressive glues will spoil the mirror backing. Thought about tiny screws countersunk in the mirror. Wondering if 3m mounting tape will bite on the starboard? Suggestions?

Starboard is HDPE I think. Very hard to stick to. Try abrasive before bonding. Wire brush, 50 grit sandpaper, etc. Then your 3M tape, contact adhesive, or whatever. I?d try a test patch first. There may also be some hot melts that work. Also, googling starboard with adhesive. I?m sure you?re not the first.

Thanks, I did the same search. I'm certain that the bonder will work....but.....will it activate and spoil the coating on the mirrors? That's the question. I'm doing a test with permanent two sided 3m tape now to see if it will remain stuck to the starboard, If not I will just use tiny screws to mount. Thanks
